Hi, I’m Sophia Elaine Stil—a UX researcher with a background in human-computer interaction and a Master’s in Computer Science from Virginia Tech. I specialize in designing inclusive, accessible experiences, with a focus on AI tools that support neurodivergent users in education and professional development.

My research and design work center on participatory methods, mixed-methods research, and systems that empower users, especially autistic students navigating mentorship, productivity, and career growth (see my thesis for more!). I’ve also led projects involving LLM-powered tools, communication support systems, and AI-driven learning platforms, all grounded in real user needs. I’m passionate about designing with empathy, clarity, and purpose.

Outside of work, I find inspiration in photography, nature, and travel. I love exploring new places with a camera in hand, capturing quiet moments and landscapes. I’m also a lifelong dog lover, and spend my summers splashing around with my dog Layla!
